Koren's Graduation Session

I had a great time today photographing this college graduate as she completes her bachelor’s degree from Johnson and Wales in Media Communications and Marketing.

This portrait session became very meaningful to me for many reasons. I was born with a rare genetic disorder. This disorder not only plays a role in dietary aspects but could influence other factors in your day-to-day activities as well. While attending a conference I was introduced to her and her sister who both had the same disorder. We were all very young and lost contact with each other. We just recently reconnected. It is so nice to see all of the success and challenges that we all have faced and overcame through the years. Today was a time for these moments to shine and prove to others that anything is possible.

I had been to Roger Williams Park a while ago but it is so nice to see a beautiful park so well kept and abundantly used. There were lots of beautiful flowers all over the park and they all complimented one another. It turned out to be a nice sunny warm day, despite the weather prediction earlier in the week. The sun was strong yet gave a good lighting for the portraits.

I would like to congratulate her and wish her the best of luck in the future and in any of her endeavors to come. This journey was not easy and I am sure she had many mountains to concur but it is now behind her.
